Fleur de Sel
From the 12th to the 16th century, Bourgneuf, located in Charente-Maritime at a short distance from La Rochelle, experienced its golden age thanks to the trade and export of salt throughout Europe. Located in the south of the Loire estuary, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, the Pays de Retz concentrates all the riches of the sea and the land. Here, at the gates of Bourgneuf-en-Retz in the former "Baye de Bretagne", the mosaic of water and greenery of the "Marais Breton" stretches as far as the eye can see.
